Nursing yards

Salemer Pflegehof

The Salemer Pflegehof stands on the northwestern edge of the Staufer core city of Esslingen. The city wall running there also forms the northern and eastern courtyard and outer walls of the property.

The Pflegehof was first mentioned in 1229 as owned by the Cistercian Monastery of Salem . The Schreiber-Museum on the history of the Schreiber-Verlag is currently under construction on a trapezoidal floor plan .

The Salemer Pflegehof was completely gutted during a renovation measure at the beginning of the 1980s and given a new roof structure. In the spring of 2015, renovation measures were carried out on the natural stone facades of the Pflegehof.

In 1982 the Salemer Pflegehof was equipped with one of the first pilot plants in Germany for the utilization of waste water heat . The project was discontinued shortly afterwards. In 2014, the waste water heat exchanger was reactivated with an electric heat pump.
