The building at Salinenstrasse 30 , the so-called Katharinenstift in Bad Kissingen , the major district town of the Lower Franconian district of Bad Kissingen . It belongs to the Bad Kissingen architectural monuments and is registered under the number D-6-72-114-338 in the Bavarian monument list .

history

The property was created in 1910 by the architect Leonhard Ritter as a home for old, single parishioners of the Protestant parish. For this purpose, the Protestant Katharina Krebs initially designated her house in Grabengasse in her will in 1903. However, as this turned out to be unsuitable, it was sold and the property at Salinenstrasse 30 was built instead. It was initially named K. Krebs'sch'e benefice and was later renamed Katharinenstift. Resettlers were later housed in the property .

The building is built in the local style with a dwarf house , risalits and red sandstone . The fencing in front of the building that was created at the same time belongs to the property. Originally there were quotations from the Bible ( Isa 46,4  EU ) and ( Mt 5,7  EU ) and a gable cross on the building , which were later removed by the Evangelical Church.

Today's park-like gardens on the slope east of Salinenstrasse were not created until the villas there were built. Before the First World War , this area was largely bare. The statue of Flora , created by the Bad Kissingen sculptor Valentin Weidner in the classicist style, stands today on Rathausplatz .

To finance the new Katharinenstift with geriatric care station on Friedrich-List-Straße, the Diakonisches Werk sold the site south of the old Katharinenstift as a building site. In 1995 new buildings with underground parking were built on this property.
