The Salknappen ( Norwegian for saddle knob ) is a secondary peak on the north side of the Isingen in the Sverdrupfjella of the East Antarctic Queen Maud Land .
The first aerial photographs were taken during the German Antarctic Expedition (1938–1939) under the direction of Alfred Ritscher . Norwegian cartographers, who also named it, mapped it on the basis of aerial photographs and measurements taken by the Norwegian-British-Swedish Antarctic Expedition (1949–1952) and aerial photographs of the Third Norwegian Antarctic Expedition (1956–1960).
