Britta Marks (* 1967 in Düren ) is a German documentary filmmaker , director , screenwriter and television producer , primarily in the field of crime .

Life

After studying German at the Ludwig Maximilians University in Munich , she completed her journalistic traineeship at FM Radio Network in Augsburg . She later worked as a freelance editor for PRO 7 and RTL , then as editor-in-chief for a leading TV production company in Munich. In 2004 she founded her own company, Marks & and Engel Media GmbH, and has since worked as a director of numerous documentaries and reports.

At the same time, she and the author Sabine Kuegler founded the company “Earth of dreams”, which produced the bestseller “ Dschungelkind ”, which was filmed in 2011 for the cinema. In 2007 she developed the ZDF format “Our wild pack” and produced more than 20 episodes.

In her films, Marks focuses primarily on the subject of "crime". Through her research, in 2008 she found a German girl in England who had been kidnapped by her grandparents for over 13 years. Your film "My robbed child" ran in ZDF format 37 degrees .

Today she produces the format she developed "Murderers on the Track" for ZDFinfo .

Marks lives and works in Berlin .
