Sally Potocki (born February 11, 1989 in Melbourne ) is an Australian national handball player . The native Polish also played basketball in the top Australian league.

Career

Potocki initially played basketball for the Australian club Sydney Comets. She then went basketball in the Australian professional league WNBL between 2007 and 2011 , where she played for the Sydney Uni Flames . In 2011 she changed the sport and from then on played handball in Sydney. In early 2012 she joined the German Bundesliga club HSG Blomberg-Lippe . In the summer of the same year, the backcourt player signed a two-year contract with the second division Borussia Dortmund . In the 2014/15 season she was promoted to the Bundesliga with Borussia Dortmund. Potocki scored 100 goals over the course of the season, making her the most dangerous player on her team. From summer 2016 she was under contract with Bayer Leverkusen . After the 2018/19 season, she returned to Australia for personal reasons.

Potocki is a member of the Australian national team , for which she made 35 international appearances until November 2013. With Australia she took part in the 2013 World Cup. Potocki scored 48 goals in seven games. In 2019 she took part in the World Cup again. During the tournament she scored 47 goals.
