Saltendorf an der Naab is a church village in the Upper Palatinate district of Schwandorf . The place is located on the left bank of the Naab directly on the southwestern outskirts of Teublitz , whose district Saltendorf has been since 1978. About 980 people live in Saltendorf.

history

The place was first mentioned in a document in 1168 in connection with a pilgrimage by the Count Palatine Friedrich. Saltendorf has been documented as a place of pilgrimage since 1368 .

The political community Saltendorf ad Naab was established in 1818 with the second community edict . In 1963, the municipality of Wölland was incorporated into the city of Burglengenfeld . On January 1, 1972, the Augustenhof part of the municipality followed . On September 6, 1972, the previous community name Saltendorf was supplemented by the addition of an der Naab (officially: ad Naab) . In the course of the municipal reorganization in Bavaria, Saltendorf ad Naab lost its political independence on May 1, 1978 and was incorporated into the town of Teublitz .

Attractions

The townscape is characterized by the baroque tower of the pilgrimage church of the Visitation of Mary with a height of 26.5 m.

Saltendorf is on the Haidhof – Burglengenfeld railway line . However, only freight trains run here.
