Saluc from Callenelle in the Belgian municipality of Péruwelz ( province of Hainaut ) is the world market leader in the manufacture of billiard balls: the company produces 80 percent of world production.

history

Saluc was founded in 1923 as a production company for synthetic tanning agents for tanneries , of which the company supplied around 40 companies in the area. When this industry slowly died out in the 1950s and the tanneries were supplied by large chemical producers, the company specialized in the manufacture of billiard balls under the brand name "Aramith®". The protected term is pure, polyester-free phenolic resin .

In May 2012 the Belgian billiard cloth manufacturer Iwan Simonis took over the company.
