Péruwelz is a municipality in the province of Hainaut in the Walloon part in the south of Belgium , right on the border with France.
Community structure
The municipality was formed in 1977 through the merger of the following municipalities, which are now districts:
- Péruwelz (I.)
- Bon-Secours (II.)
- Roucourt (III.)
- Bury (IV.)
- Braffe (V.)
- Baugnies (VI.)
- Wasmes-Audemez-Briffoeil (VII.)
- Brasmenil (VIII.)
- Wiers (IX.)
- Callenelle (X.)
Other localities within these former municipalities are: Briffœil (XI.), Audemez (XII.), Ringies (XIII.) And Ponange (XIV.).
Town twinning
Péruwelz has partnerships with the French communes of Paray-Vieille-Poste in the Essonne department (France) since 1976 and the Jaunay-Clan in the Vienne department (France) since 1976.
