The municipality consists of the localities Lobbes, Bienne-lez-Happart, Mont-Saint-Geneviève and Sars-la-Buissière .

history

The place developed around the famous Lobbes Abbey , a Benedictine monastery founded by St. Landelin of Crespin between 650 and 654 , of which only ruins remain today.

The place was also made famous by the battle between the French and Austrians on May 24th, 1794.

Worth seeing

The honey and bee museum, which is open all year round, is interesting, and every Sunday there is an "open day" with honey extraction and tasting.
