Salvo (singer)

Salvatore "Salvo" Ingrassia (born January 9, 1952 ) is a Swiss singer and entertainer with Italian roots. His father was a hairdresser and also musically active.

In 1957 Salvo emigrated with his parents to the Switzerland . He became a primary school teacher and since 1977 he has devoted himself increasingly to music. In the same year, he was naturalized in Netstal in the Swiss canton of Glarus . He lived in Glarus for a few years and also owned a recording studio there. He was best known for the song "Losed You, Frau Küenzi" (C.Brunner / Ch.Lewinsky) with which he won the 1989 Grand Prix of Folk Music . The album "Losed Si Frau Küenzi" achieved a gold record .

SALVO also works as a music producer, including the first single (vinyl) for DJ BoBo - I Love You . He sponsored Francine Jordi for 10 years and "loaned" her to Mustac for a test recording. The fire of longing was the result of this relationship. In addition, other well-known artists such as Schmirinski's, Marianne Cathomen, Paloma began their careers in collaboration with Salvo. As the creator of numerous children's songs he is still on the road today. Salvo's discography includes dialect entertainment, pop, canzonis, rock and blues. After his marriage to Stefanie (2015) he also composes and sings as a duet: “Salvo & Stefanie”.
