Sambava is the capital of the Sava region on the northeast coast of Madagascar . Sambava is one of the centers of the Malagasy vanilla trade .
Neighboring towns are Vohémar and Antalaha . The next bigger city is Antsiranana (Diego Suarez). Sambava has an airport; currently (2016) with connections to several northern Malagasy cities and the capital Antananarivo .
