Sameice is a locality and former municipality in Portugal .

history

The village was probably created after the Reconquista in the course of settlements by the order of knights of Avis , to which these lands had fallen. Around 1320 it was already a separate community, belonging to Seia.

Population development in the municipality of Sameice (1864–2011)

Sameice was a parish ( Freguesia ) in the district ( concelho ) of Seia , in the Guarda district . The community had 370 inhabitants on an area of ​​10.2 km² (as of June 30, 2011).

In the course of the municipal reorganization of Portugal , Sameice was merged with Santa Eulália on September 29, 2013 to form the new municipality União das Freguesias de Sameice e Santa Eulália . Sameice became the seat of the new parish.
