Santa Eulália is a locality and former municipality in Portugal .

history

The place has been known since the Middle Ages. In the 12th century it was already an independent municipality.

In the course of the regional reform in 2013, the municipality was dissolved and merged with Sameice to form a new municipality.

Culture and sights

Architectural monuments of the municipality are in particular the manor house Solar dos Morgados (also Solar de Santa Eulália ) and the parish church Igreja de Santa Eulália , which was renovated and consecrated in 1976 on the basis of a chapel originally built in the 13th century , as well as two other chapels.

In the course of the municipal reorganization of Portugal , Santa Eulália was merged with Sameice on September 29, 2013 to form the new municipality União das Freguesias de Sameice e Santa Eulália . Sameice became the seat of the new municipality, while the municipality of Santa Eulália was retained as a citizens' office.
