Samhorodok ( Ukrainian Самгородок ; Russian Самгородок Samgorodok ) is a village in the north of the Ukrainian Vinnytsia Oblast with about 2000 inhabitants.
The village, founded in 1602, is located on the banks of the Desna , an 80 km long left tributary of the Southern Bug and on the T-02-27 territorial road .
The village is the center of the 2.01 km² district council of the same name in the south of Kosjatyn district , to which the villages Korytuwata ( Коритувата ) with about 150 inhabitants, Krasne ( Красне ) with about 130 inhabitants and Losiwka ( Лозівка ) with about 310 inhabitants belong.
Samhorodok is located 30 km south of the Rajonzentrum Koziatyn and about 60 km northeast of the Oblastzentrum Vinnytsia .
Personalities
The opera singer Anatoly Kocherga was born there in 1947 .
