Sami Olavi Kallunki (born April 27, 1971 in Kuusamo ; † December 2, 1999 there ) was a Finnish Nordic combined athlete who started for Kuusamon Erä-Veikot when he was active . He took part in the 1992 Winter Olympics for Finland .

Career

In 1991 he was allowed to take part in the Nordic World Ski Championships for Finland in 1991 in Val di Fiemme, Italy , and was allowed to start in individual and team competitions. After taking 37th place in the individual competition, he started the relay together with Pasi Saapunki , Jukka Ylipulli . The race finished the Finnish relay in sixth place.

A year later, he qualified for the 1992 Winter Olympics in the French community of Albertville and was also nominated by the Suomen Olympic Committee for the Winter Games. Although he finished 28th in the individual as the third-best Finn, Jari Mantila was preferred to him in the relay , who did not finish the individual competition. On December 12, 1993 he was able to take third place in the home of Kuopio in World Cup B behind Tsugiharu Ogiwara from Japan and the Norwegian Glenn Skram .
