The Samsung SM7 is an upper middle class passenger car model from the South Korean car manufacturer Renault Samsung Motors . The vehicle is the brand's top model.

In the last quarter of 2003, the SM7, which is built in Busan, was introduced as a higher-quality and slightly larger version of the SM5 . The platform comes from the Nissan Teana , which is very popular in the Asian and Arab countries. V6 engines with 2.5 l at 125 kW and 3.5 l at 160 kW are available as engines.

A revision in the so-called "New Art" design took place at the end of 2007. The engines and the interior have remained unchanged. In the new form, it was also exported to South America for the first time.

In the spring of 2011, Renault Samsung showed a study of the successor model at the Seoul Motor Show . This model also bears the name SM7, is based on the now new SM5 and has generous standard equipment, such as bi-xenon headlights . The engine output increases slightly to 140 or 190 kW. A version with 103 kW was added later.

The new model was introduced in South Korea in August 2011. From June 2012 the car was exported to China as the Renault Talisman .
