The Samuel-Heinicke-Realschule (abbreviation: SHR) is a private, state-recognized school for the hard of hearing in Munich founded by Pastor Georg Rückert in 1971 , sponsored by the SchulCentrum Augustinum GmbH Munich. The official name of the school is Samuel-Heinicke-Schule, a state-recognized, private secondary school for special needs education, with a special focus on hearing from SchulCentrum Augustinum gGmbH , Munich.

Its name comes from the pedagogue Samuel Heinicke , who is considered to be the inventor of the German method of deaf education .

In September 2006 the school moved from Munich- Pasing to Nymphenburg to a new building on the site of the former In den Kirschen school for the blind . In September 2007, the Samuel Heinicke Realschule took up the Realschule branch of the Bavarian State School for the Deaf from Munich- Laim .

A special feature of this school is the seven-level secondary school . This means that an 11th grade is offered.

Another special feature are the small classes of 7 to 14 students. The classrooms are equipped with a listening system. Since the Samuel Heinicke Realschule is the only Realschule for the hearing impaired in Bavaria , there is home accommodation for the students directly at the school.
