Samuel Bayer
Samuel David Bayer (born February 17, 1962 in Syracuse ) is an American director .
Life
In 1987 he graduated from the New York School of Visual Arts and saw films and videos as a medium to spread his art to large audiences.
He's made hundreds of music videos; He started his career with the video for Nirvanas Smells Like Teen Spirit , which was named by MTV as one of the most influential music videos ever made. He made countless other music videos; for the Rolling Stones , Marilyn Manson , Metallica , Smashing Pumpkins , David Bowie , Aerosmith , Lenny Kravitz , Blink-182 , My Chemical Romance and Green Day, among others .
In 2010 his first feature film, A Nightmare on Elm Street, was released .
