Samuel Carey Bradshaw

Samuel Carey Bradshaw (born June 10, 1809 in Plumstead , Bucks County , Pennsylvania , †  June 9, 1872 in Quakertown , Bucks County, Pennsylvania) was an American politician . Between 1855 and 1857 he represented the state of Pennsylvania in the US House of Representatives .

Career

Samuel Bradshaw attended public schools in his home country. After a subsequent medical degree at Pennsylvania Medical College and his 1833 admission as a doctor, he began to work in Quakertown in this profession. In the 1850s he joined the opposition party . In the congressional election of 1854 he was elected to the United States House of Representatives in Washington, DC in the seventh constituency of Pennsylvania , where he succeeded Samuel Augustus Bridges on March 4, 1855 .

Since Bradshaw was not confirmed in 1856, he could only serve one term in Congress until January 3, 1857 . This was shaped by the events leading up to the civil war . After his time in the US House of Representatives, he no longer appeared politically. He died in Quakertown on June 9, 1872.
