Samuel Feiser Glatfelter

Samuel Feiser Glatfelter (born April 7, 1858 in Loganville , York County , Pennsylvania , †  April 23, 1927 in York , Pennsylvania) was an American politician . Between 1923 and 1925 he represented the state of Pennsylvania in the US House of Representatives .

Career

Samuel Glatfelter attended the public schools of his home country, the York County Academy and then the Pennsylvania College in Gettysburg . He then worked as a teacher for a few years. He later became a building contractor. He also got into the banking industry. Politically, he joined the Democratic Party .

In the 1922 congressional elections , Glatfelter was elected to the United States House of Representatives in Washington, DC in the 22nd  constituency of Pennsylvania , where he succeeded Republican Adam Martin Wyant on March 4, 1923 , who moved to the 31st district. Since he was not confirmed in 1924, he could only serve one term in Congress until March 3, 1925 .

After the end of his time in the US House of Representatives, Samuel Glatfelter worked again as a building contractor. He died on April 23, 1927 in York, where he was also buried.
