Molybdenum (III) fluoride is an inorganic chemical compound of molybdenum from the group of fluorides .
Extraction and presentation
Molybdenum (III) fluoride can be obtained by reacting molybdenum (V) fluoride with molybdenum at 400 ° C.
properties
Molybdenum (III) fluoride is a light green solid that turns black when heated to 800 ° C and dark red at 900 ° C. It is thermally stable up to 500 ° C and has a crystal structure of the vanadium (III) fluoride type. Other sources indicate a structure of the rhenium (VI) oxide type.
