Millencourt ( Picard : Milincourt ) is a northern French municipality with 211 inhabitants (at January 1, 2017) in the department of Somme in the region of Hauts-de-France . The municipality belongs to the canton of Albert and is part of the Communauté de communes du Pays du Coquelicot .

geography

Millencourt is located on the heights west of the Ancre river on the D91 departmental road, around five kilometers west of Albert . In the south, the municipality extends to the Départementsstraße D929 (former Route nationale 29 ).

history

The place called Milliuncurt in 1086 , in which the Corbie Abbey had possessions, received the Croix de guerre 1914-1918 as an award . In the First World War, many houses were destroyed in the community.
