Fins is a French municipality with 277 inhabitants (at January 1, 2017) in the department of Somme in the region of Hauts-de-France , in the north of France. The municipality belongs to the canton of Péronne .

geography

The municipality is located at the intersection of Départementstrasse 917 (formerly the national road N17 Paris - Senlis - Cambrai ), which bends here from a northern course to a north-eastern course, D58 (part of the system of the Chaussée Brunehaut ) and D55 13 km north-northeast of Péronne in Vermandois .

Toponymy and History

The parish name is derived from the Latin term "fines" (border) after the location near the border between the Belgian tribes of the Nervier and the Viromanduer and between the dioceses of Cambrai and Noyon .

The community received the Croix de guerre 1914-1918 as an award .
