history
Finds show a Gallo-Roman and Merovingian settlement. The place is mentioned for the first time in a deed of donation from the Abbey of Saint-Bertin from the year 883. In the 14th century, the residents of the burned down town of Rousseville settled in Rosières. In the 16th century, basements ( muches ) were dug. In 1579 Rosières was granted three annual markets and one weekly market. The church was built in 1746. In 1865 the railway reached the place. In both world wars, Rosières suffered destruction. The former airfield Rosières-en-Santerre was a few kilometers east of the village. Heavy fighting took place here on May 22, 1940.
