Arquèves ( Picard : Artchève) is a northern French municipality with 165 inhabitants (at January 1, 2017) in the department of Somme in the region of Hauts-de-France . The municipality belongs to the canton of Acheux-en-Amiénois and is part of the Communauté de communes du Pays du Coquelicot .

Arquèves is about five kilometers west of Acheux-en-Amiénois on the D31 departmental road from Léalvillers to Raincheval .

history

The area belonged to Antoine de Vadencourt in 1507 and was dependent on the castellany of Authie. It later came to the de Montebenne family. Cyprien de Montebenne, lord of Héricourt and Arquèves, was appointed field marshal. He married Élisabeth du Châtelet. Réné Jean de Mailly, who died in 1662, came to power through her daughter, Charlotte de Montebenne. The last rule came in 1743 through marriage to the Count of Hesecques.
