Dernancourt ( Picard : Dèrnincourt) is a northern French municipality with 540 inhabitants (at January 1, 2017) in the department of Somme in the region of Hauts-de-France . The municipality belongs to the canton of Albert and is part of the Communauté de communes du Pays du Coquelicot .
geography
Dernancourt is located immediately south of Albert on the right bank of the Ancre . The municipality is traversed by the D52 and D64 département roads and extends in the north to the D929 département road (former Route nationale 29 ). By the municipality leading Paris-Lille railway .
history
The place was first mentioned in 1287 on the occasion of a gift from Henri de Dernant.
During the First World War , Dernancourt was the site of fighting during the Battle of the Somme in July 1916 and the German offensive in April 1918. The community received the Croix de guerre 1914-1918 as an award .
