Béthencourt-sur-Somme is a French municipality with 129 inhabitants (at January 1, 2017) in the department of Somme in the region of Hauts-de-France in northern France. The municipality belongs to the canton of Ham and is part of the Est de la Somme municipal association .

geography

The municipality is located on the west bank of the Somme, which is channeled here , north of Rouy-le-Grand and south of Pargny on the D62 departmental road . There is a road link over a bridge to Villecourt , on the opposite side of the Somme valley . The valley floodplain largely belongs to the municipality.

history

In Béthencourt there was only one under the rule of Louis XIII in the 13th century . defunct castle that controlled the crossing over the Somme.

The community received the Croix de guerre 1914-1918 as an award .
