Harbonnières ( Picard : Harbounière) is a northern French municipality with 1641 inhabitants (at January 1, 2017) in the department of Somme in the region of Hauts-de-France . The municipality is located in the Arrondissement of Péronne , belongs to the canton of Moreuil and is part of the Communauté de communes Terre de Picardie .
geography
The municipality is located in the agricultural landscape of Santerre around 5 km northwest of Rosières-en-Santerre at the intersection of the departmental roads D41 and D337. The municipality is crossed by the A29 autoroute and the Amiens-Laon railway line and touches the D1029 département road in the north (former route nationale 29 ). A British military cemetery is located on this near the Ferme d'en Haut . There is a chemical factory in the west of the community.
history
Finds show a Gallo-Roman settlement. The place was raised to a parish before the 12th century. In the 12th century he owned a leper house and a hospital. Two annual fairs have been held since the Middle Ages. In 1888 another hospital was built in the center of the village, which was destroyed in 1918 during the First World War , in which rule over the village changed several times, but rebuilt in 1927 and converted into a home for the disabled in 1950. Harbonnières received the Croix de guerre 1814-1918 as an award .
