Tertry is a French municipality with 156 inhabitants (at January 1, 2017) in the department of Somme in the region of Hauts-de-France in northern France. The municipality belongs to the canton of Ham and is part of the Est de la Somme municipal association .

geography

The community lies on both sides of the Omignon River , the settlement is on the right (northern) bank. The municipality extends in the north to the Chaussée Brunehaut , today's Départementsstraße D1029 (formerly N29), and in the south to the Autoroute A29 .

history

The Battle of Tertry took place near Tertry in 687 , in which Pippin the Middle , the house keeper of Austrasia , beat the house keeper of Neustria , Berchar , whereupon Pippin became the caretaker of the entire Frankish Empire .

Tertry was awarded the Croix de guerre 1914-1918 .
