Sailly-Saillisel is a northern French municipality with 477 inhabitants (at January 1, 2017) in the department of Somme in the region of Hauts-de-France . The municipality belongs to the canton of Péronne .

geography

The municipality is located around five kilometers northeast of Combles on the D1017 département road (former Route nationale 17 ). The junction of Autoroute A1 and Autoroute A2 is partly on the municipal area. The eastern part of the municipality Saillisel has grown together with Sailly.

history

Destroyed Mairie and School in 1916

The parish was part of the site of the Battle of Bapaume (1871). The advance of the Allied troops in the Battle of the Somme in July 1916 came to a halt here. The community received the Croix de guerre 1914-1918 as an award .
