Fresnes-Mazancourt (Picard: Frène-Mazancourt) is a northern French municipality with 139 inhabitants (at January 1, 2017) in the department of Somme in the region of Hauts-de-France . The municipality belongs to the canton of Ham and is part of the Communauté de communes Terre de Picardie .

geography

The community is located around 6 km northeast of Chaulnes in the north of the A29 autoroute and west of the D1017 département road (former Route nationale 17 ) - on this the Mazancourt district - and the disused railway line from Saint-Just-en-Chaussée to Douai.

history

The Fresnes reign is mentioned as early as 1045. Later she belonged to the pair of Chaulnes . Today's castle is a modern building. Mazancourt goes back to a dairy farm. 1430 Florimond de Brimeu is mentioned as lord of Mazancourt. The estate later came to the Merlin of Mazancourt, who gave it up in the 16th century. After that, Mazancourt became a farm.

The community received the Croix de guerre 1914-1918 as an award .
