Y [ i ] is a French municipality with 92 inhabitants (1 January 2017) in the department of Somme in the region of Hauts-de-France . It belongs to the Arrondissement of Péronne and the canton of Ham . The residents call themselves "Ypsiloniens". Y has the shortest name of all municipalities in Europe .

The municipality of Y is located two kilometers east of the Somme and about 20 kilometers west of Saint-Quentin .

history

The Saint-Médard church

Y was in the combat zone during the First World War and for this reason it was destroyed at the time, u. a. the Saint-Médard church, which was rebuilt during the 1920s.
