Senlis-le-Sec ( Picard : Sanli-l'Sé) is a northern French municipality with 294 inhabitants (at January 1, 2017) in the department of Somme in the region of Hauts-de-France . The municipality belongs to the canton of Albert and is part of the Communauté de communes du Pays du Coquelicot .
geography
The community is located around six kilometers northwest of Albert on the D119 departmental road. The D938 département road runs through the municipality to the north. The place arose from the parts Beaucourt and Montaigu. The earlier run of the Hallue has run dry here.
history
The municipality was already populated in prehistoric times. 1188 a lord of Senlis is mentioned. The rule of Senli was in the hands of the de Lameth family until the end of the Ancien Régime. There was a Templar settlement near the cemetery. In 1635 the site was sacked by the Spanish.
During the First World War , the building known as the Château was used as a hospital. In August 1915 the British Army entered.
The community received the Croix de guerre 1914-1918 as an award .

- The Saint-Martin Church, built in 1827 on the site of a church destroyed in the French Revolution , and restored in 1849 and 2005.
