Driencourt (Picard: Dryincourt ) is a French municipality with 92 inhabitants (at January 1, 2017) in the department of Somme in the region of Hauts-de-France in northern France. The municipality belongs to the canton of Péronne .
geography
The rural community is located on Départementsstraße 181E around five kilometers northeast of Péronne in Vermandois .
history
In Driencourt the remains of a Gallo-Roman villa and underground protective structures ( muche ; cf. Souterrain von Naours ) were discovered.
The community was destroyed in the First World War . She received the Croix de guerre 1914–1918 as an award . The reconstruction (Mairie-École, Sainte-Radegonde church, houses and farms) was carried out by the Parisian architect Jacques Debat-Ponsan (1882–1942) with his office, who was also involved in the reconstruction of Péronne.
