Clery-sur-Somme ( Picard : Clery-su-sonme) is a French municipality with 546 inhabitants (at January 1, 2017) in the department of Somme in the region of Hauts-de-France in northern France. The municipality belongs to the canton of Péronne and is part of the Communauté de communes de la Haute Somme .

geography

The commune, cut through by the D938 departmental road, is located northwest of Péronne mainly on the northern bank of the Somme , while the district of Omiécourt-lès-Cléry is on the opposite bank of the Somme. In the west, the municipality extends to the A1 autoroute . The ponds of the upper Somme in the municipality are known for their eel stocks .

The community devastated in the course of the Battle of the Somme in September 1916 was awarded the Croix de guerre 1914-1918 .
