Aveluy ( Picard : Avluy) is a northern French municipality with 522 inhabitants (at January 1, 2017) in the department of Somme in the region of Hauts-de-France . The municipality belongs to the canton of Albert and is part of the Communauté de communes du Pays du Coquelicot .

geography

Aveluy lies on the right bank of the Ancre river and on the northern edge of Albert on the D20 departmental road running in a west-east direction, here crossing the Ancre, and the D50 departmental road running in north-south direction, following the Ancre. The Paris – Lille railway runs through the municipality . In the north of the municipality are the Bois d'Aveluy (to the right of the Ancre) and the Bois de la Haie (to the left of the Ancre).
