Cartigny ( Picard : Quèrtgny) is a French municipality with 745 inhabitants (at January 1, 2017) in the department of Somme in the region of Hauts-de-France in northern France. The municipality belongs to the canton of Péronne and is part of the Communauté de communes de la Haute Somme .

geography

Cartigny is located east of Péronne on the D194 department road and south of the Cologne river . The districts of Brusle and Beaumetz belong to the municipality. The railway line from Péronne to Roisel , which had a train station in Cartigny, has been dismantled.

history

In Le Catelet south of the community center there was a branch of the Templar Order , which was probably founded in the 12th century.

The community received the Croix de guerre 1914-1918 as an award .
