Marchélepot-Misery is a French municipality with 599 inhabitants (as of January 1 2017) in the department of Somme in the region of Hauts-de-France . It belongs to the Arrondissement of Péronne and the canton of Ham .

It was created as Commune nouvelle with effect from January 1, 2019 through the amalgamation of the previous municipalities Marchélepot and Misery , which have the status of a Commune déléguée in the new municipality . The administrative headquarters are located in Marchélepot.

geography

The municipality is located around 42 kilometers east of Amiens in the historic province of Santerre . The Canal de la Somme runs along the eastern municipal boundary and the A 29 motorway crosses the municipal area. Neighboring communities are: Villers-Carbonnel in the north, Saint-Christ-Briost in the north-east, Cizancourt in the east, Licourt in the south-east, Hypercourt in the south and south-west, Ablaincourt-Pressoir in the west and Fresnes-Mazancourt in the north-west.
