La Neuville-lès-Bray (Picard: L'Neuville-lès-Bray) is a northern French municipality with 266 inhabitants (at January 1, 2017) in the department of Somme in the region of Hauts-de-France . The municipality belongs to the canton of Albert and is part of the Communauté de communes du Pays du Coquelicot .
geography
Located on the Somme , which meanders here and is expanded by ponds, is located immediately south of Bray-sur-Somme on the opposite (left) bank of the river. It is connected to Bray by two bridges, one of which is crossed by the D329. The development essentially follows the road from Bray to Montdidier. The hamlet of Froissy, located on the Canal de la Somme , which pierces the bend of the river here, belongs to La Neuville and is the starting point of the P'tit Train touristique de la Haute Somme . South of Froissy, the slope of Mont Clairon drops steeply into the Vallée de l'Enfer.
history
La Neuville formed the suburb of Bray-sur-Somme until 1830, when it became administratively independent.
The community received the Croix de guerre 1914-1918 as an award .
