history

A Roman camp is suspected in Méharicourt. In 1135, the place known as a place of pilgrimage to martyrs of the Theban Legion , whose relics were exhibited in the church of Saint-Martin, is mentioned as Mahericourt. In 1899 there were three wool weaving mills with steam engines.

The community, which suffered damage in World War I , was awarded the Croix de guerre 1914–1918. Shortly before the beginning of the Second World War , a British military airfield was set up in Méharicourt, which the Germans later also used.
