Clapier de Colongue ( Russian Клапье де Колонг ) is originally from Andalusia derived Baltic noble family .

history

Juan (Jean) de Clapiers, originally from Andalusia and former general Robert von Anjous , settled in France in the 14th century . There is evidence of a fiefdom in Provence for the year 1343 . Jean de Clapiers died in 1350.

Captain Alexander Clapier de Colongue (1685-1743) moved to Russia in 1712 , where he served as a military engineer and was quickly promoted to colonel . As early as 1719 he was head of the engineering school in St. Petersburg and commander of the engineering and mining companies. This was followed by the promotion to major general and in 1722 the appointment to general director of all Russian military engineering.

After acquiring the Estonian goods Samm (now Samma ) and Arrohof (now Are ), he received the Estonian indigenous community in 1734 . He is considered the progenitor of the sex. Many of his descendants also pursued military careers in the Russian army and navy.

From 1780 the family owned the Ontika estate , which Lieutenant General Johann Clapier de Colongue (1719–1789) donated to a majorate in 1783 .

Peter Clapier de Colongue (1842–1906) received the Livonian Indigenate in 1867 and was accepted into the Livonian Knighthood .

In 1919 the family was expropriated as part of the Estonian land reform . The family has been based in Germany since 1938.

The coat of arms is divided , above gold and single, below five times divided by blue and silver. The helmet with gold-blue-silver covers without any gem .
