life and work

While the hymn researcher Philipp Wackernagel suspects that Kinner could have been a son of the hymn poet Martin Kinner von Scherffenstein , the author of the ADB article puts forward a different thesis. According to him, the hymn poet Samuel Kinner could be the same person as the Breslau doctor of the same name, who died on August 10, 1668 at the age of 65 in Brieg , but then he could at most be a grandson of Martin Kinner.

Kinner composed a hymn of the Lord's Supper , which was particularly popular in Silesia . It can be found first in the hymn book by Jeremias Weber, printed in Leipzig in 1638 or as early as 1630 .
