Samuele Olivi (born August 1, 1980 in Cesena ) is an Italian football player who has been under contract with Pescara Calcio in Serie B since August 2009 .
Career
society
Samuele Olivi began his career in the youth team of AC Cesena , for whose professional team he made his competitive debut on February 7, 1999 in the Serie B match against FBC Treviso . The defender made a total of seven league appearances for Cesena in the 1998/99 season . With 45 points, relegation was achieved in 13th place at the end of the season. Olivi could not earn a regular place in Cesena in the following season and played in eleven league games for the team from Emilia-Romagna. In the summer of 2000, the defender signed a contract with league rivals Salernitana Sport . He managed to fight for a regular place at Salernitana and to secure the league with the team for four years in a row. Although the team would have been relegated to Serie C1 in the 2002/03 season with only 23 points clearly beaten as bottom of the table , the club was saved from falling into third division due to the planned relegation of Catania Calcio , and Serie B was then for the following season 2003/04 increased to 24 teams, so that Catania Calcio was allowed to remain in the league.
After Olivi took care of the league in the following season with Salernitana in a sporty way, the club's license was withdrawn due to the bankruptcy and excluded from the game. The defensive player then left the team and joined Piacenza Calcio . At Piacenza he finally made the breakthrough that formed an important support on the defensive for the Lombard team. The 2006/07 season was surprisingly successful when the team reached fourth place in Serie B with 68 points. During that season, Olivi made 22 league appearances for Piacenza and scored two goals. In the following two years it was possible to secure relegation with a secured middle field.
After the defender was no longer part of the regular squad with 19 games in his last season at Piacenza, he decided to leave the club in summer 2009 and sign a contract with third division Pescara Calcio . He made his debut on August 24, 2009 in the home game against Rimini Calcio for Pescara. In the 2-0 win over Rimini, he also immediately scored his first goal for the Abruzzo club.
At the end of the 2009/10 season, he was promoted to the second division with Pescara. In the play-off finals, the team prevailed against Hellas Verona .
National team
Olivi completed a total of 32 international matches for the Italian youth national teams between 1996 and 2002. He made his debut on August 16, 2000 in the game against Mexico for the U-21 selection and played until his last game for the Azzurrini on February 12, 2002 against the United States seven more games for the U-21 of Italy.
