San Bernabe AVA (recognized since June 29, 2004) is a wine-growing region in the US state of California . The area is south of Monterey County . The protected designation of origin is part of the parent Monterey AVA and is defined in the east by the Salinas River and in the west by the Santa Lucia Mountains . In the north lies the Pine Canyon and in the south joins the San Lucas AVA . The American Viticultural Area was largely at the instigation of Delicato Family Vineyards recognized that with the more than 2,000-hectare vineyard San Bernabe Vineyard bedeutendster producer are in the region.
