San Diego is a city in the state of Carabobo in northern Venezuela .
It is the seat of the district of the same name ( Municipio ). San Diego is located northwest of Lake Valencia and, together with Los Guayos , Naguanagua , Tocuyito and Valencia , is part of the greater Valencia area.
history
The governor of the province of Venezuela declared on February 20, 1694 San Diego as an "Indian village", along with Los Guayos and Guacara . The Indian Rosario was appointed mayor.
In 1755 the licenciado Joseph Manuel de Grezala y Aguirre, priest of the Indians of San Diego and Los Guayos, began the construction of the San Diego Church.
On January 14, 1994, San Diego, a parroquia of the district of Valencia, became the administrative seat of the district of San Diego.
