The district of Sanatorium am Hausstein is located on the southern slope of the Hausstein a good two kilometers north of Schaufling and is accessed by a spur road from the DEG 15 district road.
history
In 1905, construction began on the “sanatorium for middle-class lung patients at Hausstein in the Bavarian Forest”, which opened in 1908. In the local register of 1925 the place is listed under the municipality of Nadling and 105 inhabitants are given. The municipality of Nadling was renamed the municipality of Schaufling in 1937. The 1987 census shows no residents. Since 1999 the place has been the seat of the Asklepios Clinic Schaufling .
