The 917 m above sea level. NHN high Hausstein is a mountain in the front Bavarian Forest southwest of the Lower Bavarian district town of Regen and northeast of the district town of Deggendorf and is located in the municipality of Schauflings in the district of Deggendorf .
On its west side there are two drag lifts for alpine skiers and ski slopes with a length of up to 1100 meters, which are part of the Deggendorf-Rusel-Hausstein ski and cross-country center. The Rusel is located north of the Hausstein and the Asklepios Clinic Schaufling is on its south side .
The sanatorium on Hausstein , built in 1908, is named after him.
