features

The Sanford goggle bird reaches a size of 15 to 16 centimeters. The eye ring is very narrow, but the dirty white reins and some feathers above the eye make the eye ring appear large. The top is amber brown; the upper wing-coverts and the tail feathers are reddish-brown. The underside is cinnamon-sand-colored and olive-colored, especially at the throat. The iris is brown. The beak and legs are light yellow. The closely related Woodford Brillenvogel ( Woodfordia superciliosa ), it differs by the reins drawing the longer beak and brownish plumage coloration. The sexes look the same. The young birds have not yet been described. The singing consists of "chip" tones that are repeated frequently.
