Sangur
Sangur was briefly ruler of the Danischmenden in Melitene (Malatya) around 1106 .
biography
Sangur was the younger son of the dynasty founder Gümüştekin Danischmend Ghazi . After the death of his father in 1104 (or 1106), the Danish Menden Empire was divided: the elder son Emir Ghazi Gümüştekin received Sivas and most of the Anatolian territories that made up most of the empire, Sangur Melitene and the Syrian possessions of the dynasty.
At that time, Sangur was still young and inexperienced, which the Seljuk Sultan Kılıç Arslan I took advantage of: After signing a peace treaty with the Byzantine Empire , he turned east and conquered Melitene in the autumn of 1106. Whether Sangur survived the conquest and what happened to him is unknown.
Melitene was recaptured in 1124 by his brother Ghazi Gümüştekin.
