Santa Galla is a parish and titular church in Rome . The church is located on Via Circonvallazione Ostiense in the Roman quarter of Ostiense . The patroness of the church is Saint Galla of Rome , daughter of the senator, consul and city prefect in late ancient Rome, Quintus Aurelius Symmachus .

history

The parish was founded on December 13, 1940 with the Templum in honorem decree by Cardinal Vicar Francesco Marchetti Selvaggiani . On December 15, 1940, the church was consecrated by Cardinal Ugo Poletti . The church, built by the architect Tullio Rossi, was elevated to the title church of the Roman Catholic Church by Pope Francis on February 14, 2015 .
